Cape Town is a city with countless choices when it comes tourist hotspots. From camel riding in Kommetjie to sipping sundowners in Camps Bay and everything in between; Cape Town has something for everyone. Surprisingly, there is many an adventure to be had for under R50. In fact, there are up to 50 things to do in Cape Town for under R50. We’ve included some of our favourites below for you:
Promenade Mondays
Explore the Sea Point promenade on “anything that skates” with locals. Think skateboard, longboard, roller-skates or a BMX. It is a weekly sunset social event that goes from the Queens beach parking lot at 6pm every Monday evening. And one of our favourite things about it? It’s free!
City Sightseeing Harbour Cruise
This boat trip allows for breathtaking views of table mountain from the bay. It’s R45 per person for a ride from the waterfront and around the harbour.
Hiking
There are an array of free hikes in and around the city. Lion’s Head is a firm favourite as it offers incredible views from the top and is very popular on a full moon night where you have the chance to see both the sunset and moonrise. Other free hikes include Platteklip Gorge up Table Mountain and Newlands Forest for a more shaded option.
First Thursdays
As the name implies, this event takes place on the first Thursday of every month. It’s a free event where arts and culture in Cape Town go on display until late into the night. You can find out all the information you need on First Thursdays here.
This is only four items from a list of 50; as is evident, Cape Town has so much to offer. We at Rentacheapie delight in adding more value to your adventuring!
